After building the world’s most expensive and the fastest SUV, Bentley does not seem to be satisfied. Especially with the speeds the Bentayga can achieve. The British luxury car manufacturer is now planning to launch a more powerful version of the Bentayga SUV.
The Bentley Bentaygawas launched at this year’s IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on Volkswagen’s MLB Evo, it is powered by a new 6.0-litre W12 petrol engine producing 600 hp and 900 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels. The SUV accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 4.2 kmph. It will go on to a top speed of 301 kmph. This makes it the fastest and the most powerful SUV in the world. On the inside, it comes loaded and is one of the most luxurious SUVs you can buy. These two facts also make it the most expensive SUV in the world. It also gets a very expensive option of a Breitling clock with mechanical movement.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, the firm’s engineering boss, Rolf Frech, hinted that more powerful version of the SUV was being developed but nothing has been confirmed as of now. A few spy pics of the SUV have also shown a few models with aerodynamic packages like side skirts, a new splitter and a rear spoiler. It also had larger brakes. The normal Bentayga’s top speed has been restricted due to its tyres. The more powerful version could be called the Bentayga Speed. It could develop around 700 bhp and hit a top speed of 320 kmph or more.
A more powerful version is required to retain the record as Lamborghini is building the Urus SUVto take the fastest SUV title away from Bentley.

More Bentayga variants that could follow will be powered by a smaller V8 engine, a diesel engine and it might even get a plug-in hybrid.
With this SUV, the race for the world’s fastest SUV title has heated up and the performance SUV segment has become more interesting with more and more manufacturers building fast SUVs. The previous record holder was the Porsche CayenneTurbo S.
