Honda has unveiled the BR-V compact SUV in India with a launch scheduled in the second quarter of 2016. It will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster in India. The Honda BR-V is the first car in its class to come with a 7-seat layout and is its key USP. It will be powered by a pair of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the City sedan that develop 118PS and 100PS respectively. Both engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but only the petrol will be offered with a 7-step CVT automatic gearbox.

On the insides, the BR-V will be offered with loads of equipment like a touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, leather upholstery, second row AC vents as standard on top variants. It will feature an instrument cluster similar to that of the Jazz which looks funky with its blue LED backlighting. On the safety front, ABS with EBD and dual airbags will be standard across the range which are one of those quintessential requirements on car’s these days given the rising cases of car accidents. The Honda BR-V is expected to start at a price of Rs. 8.50 lakhs and go up to Rs. 13.50 lakhs for the range topping variant.

Honda also had on display the all new 2016 Accord that will be launched during the festive season this year which will be launched in India during the last quarter of 2016. It is powered by a 2.4-litre petrol motor that develops around 190PS of max power. The Honda Accord will compete with the Skoda Superb and the Toyota Camry in India and is expected to be priced from Rs. 25 lakhs to Rs. 30 lakhs before taxes. Honda also had on display their latest F1 racer from the McLaren Honda F1 team.
