Tata unveiled its production spec model of its Hexa crossover at the Delhi Auto Expo this year. The production spec Indian crossover will compete in the same segment as the recently unveiled Toyota Innova Crysta as an upmarket multi purpose vehicle similar in many aspects to the Aria that preceded it.

Up front, the 2016 Tata Hexa production version sports a chrome accentuated gloss black hexagonal grille, chrome lined fog lamp enclosures, projector headlamps and LED DRLs

Tata’s all new six seater is visually stunning with the front end marked by a large gloss black grille, blackened headlights and LED DRLs. The Hexa is noticeably more upmarket with its silver skid plate, chrome lined grille and fog lamp enclosures. The sides feature ORVM mounted turn indicators, sporty machine cut 19 inch alloys and plastic cladding that melds the upmarket nature of a premium MPV and the sportiness of an off-roader. The rear features dual chrome exhaust tips as well as a bottom mounted spare tire.

The interiors of the new 2016 Tata Hexa production version is a mix of upmarket leather and upmarket plastics.

The interiors are also fairly upmarket with the 2016 Tata Hexa MPV housing its occupants in premium leather upholstery. Passengers are also treated to a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system developed by Harman. Safety wise, the new Hexa comes with ESP, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD and traction control.

The 2016 Tata Hexa production version features blackened pillars to produce the illusion of a floating roofline.

Powering the production variants of the Hexa MPV is the Indian car maker’s 2.2 l diesel VARICOR engine that churns out  156 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Buyers have an option of choosing between a six speed manual and a six speed automatic gearbox. Similar to the Zest sedan from the same manufacturers, the 2016 Hexa MPV’s suspension and power delivery can be varied via four driving modes namely Automatic, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough-Road.
