Maruti Suzuki in India has been always at the top of the sales charts by a considerable margin. The company is one of the oldest in India and has a connect with its customers which no other manufacturer in this country can boast of. Its continuous growth in the Indian market exemplifies this. The Indo-Japanese car maker has registered a growth of 9.7 percent which is tune with rest of the industry but keeps maintaining a constant lead ahead of its nearest competition. Maruti in the last month saw highest growth in the Compact and Utility Vehicle segment which consist of cars like the Swift, Baleno, Celerio, DZire and Ritz, and the Ertiga and S-Cross respectively.

The Compact segment saw a growth of 19.5 percent and over 57 percent growth in the Utility Vehicles segment which saw new launches namely the S-Cross and Ertiga facelift. Sales of the DZire Tour grew by 69.1 percent due to gaining popularity in the fleet taxi segment. The Mini segment which consists of the Alto and WagonR was the only sub-category that saw a decline of 4.7 percent. The sales of the Ciaz sedan also improved by 5.3 percent which is quite marginal for a mass manufacturer like Maruti.

In recent times, Maruti Suzuki has been giving lot of importance for safety in their cars. The company recently introduced Dual Airbags and ABS optional on all variants of the Swift, DZire and Celerio models. This move is indeed welcomed and we hope other manufacturers are also taking note. Maruti all new Compact SUV could also make it to showrooms early next year with a probable launch at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The car will be powered by familiar engine options too namely the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel.
