Nissan India has announced that it has appointed John Abraham has the Brand Ambassador for its upcoming new flagship cars in India – the X-Trail Hybrid and the GT-R. The partnership with John Abraham is timed with Nissan’s plans for further growth as the Japanese carmaker looks to expand its product range in India. The announcement took place at a press conference held today at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
Nissan GT-R
Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations, said, “We are really excited about John Abraham joining the Nissan team. He will help ignite interest in the Nissan brand and the special models in our portfolio. John is a perfect fit with our plan to bring the best and latest of Nissan’s global line-up to India. John is not only a superstar, but he is an all-out performance enthusiast and an idol for youth in India.” Commenting on his new association with Nissan, John Abraham said, “I’ve always been passionate about driving. The GT-R is a legendary car that petrolheads like me swear by, while the X-Trail Hybrid is the right product at the right time for our country. I’m thrilled to be joining Nissan at such an exciting time for the company in India and look forward to the journey ahead.”
Nissan X-Trail Hybrid
Nissan India has announced that it will be launching its iconic GT-R sportscar and new X-Trail Hybrid crossover to India in the 2016 financial year. The GT-R will storm Indian shores in September 2016, while the new X-Trail Hybrid will follow before the end of the financial year. India will be the fourth market in the world after Japan, Thailand and Indonesia where Nissan will have introduced the X-Trail Hybrid. The current Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine that develops 550PS of max power and 632Nm of max torque, while the X-Trail is powered by a 2.0-litre MR20 DD petrol engine twinned with an advanced 31kW electric motor that enables both driving and environmental performance.
