has made its appearance in a new TV commercial. The India-bound SUV is seen doing off-road maneuvers like crossing a river, climbing hills and also cruising along the highways in this video.
The latest generation Toyota Fortuner was launched in international markets earlier this year but we in India are still waiting for it to land on our soils. A lot has been going for the Fortuner especially when it comes to toughness, practicality and also not to forget the solid Toyota reliability. This was what made the Fortuner a runaway success in India in the first place and in its current generation aims to take this even further by coming in a sort of a sophisticated package. The company will be launching the car in India somewhere mid of next year and the next market for the Fortuner would be South America late this year or early next year after Thailand and Australian markets.

The Toyota Fortuner measures 4,795mm in length (up by 90mm), 1,855mm in width (up by 15mm), 1,835mm in height (down by 15mm) and a wheelbase of 2,750mm which is exactly the same as the old car. The car now looks much more sleek and gone is the old school look of the previous generation. The headlights now are a lot more slim along with the taillamps which complement them very well. The interiors feature a familiar looking cliff like dashboard which was seen first on the new Corolla Altis. There is a multifunction steering wheel along with other bits like a touchscreen infotainment system that you expect from a car of this size and price.

In India, the Toyota Fortuner competes with the Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Hyundai SantaFe. The battle between the Toyota and the Ford here has been the most iconic though and it will be interesting to see how these two fight it out next year as even Ford will be bringing the latest generation of the Endeavourearly next year.
