The Jaguar XE is available only with a petrol engine

Back in February, at the Auto Expo held in Delhi, the British company launchedthe XE with a petrol engine. The engines are from the new Ingenium range. Currently the XE is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine in two states of tune – 197 bhp and 320 Nm of torque and 237 bhp and 340 Nm of torque. The engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to the rear wheels.

The diesel is a 2.0-litre engine from the new Ingenium range. It is available in two states of tune – 160 bhp and 380 Nm of torque and  178 bhp and 430 Nm of torque. The transmission options available are a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic. The manual gearbox will not be offered here. With the Jaguar XE diesel, the Tata owned British company will finally be able to sell diesel cars in the national capital.

The Jaguar XE comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen system with satellite navigation, smartphone connectivity, pre-heating and a heads-up display. The safety features include airbags, Traction Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Closing Vehicle Sensing,  and the Reverse Traffic Detection.

A diesel engine will soon join the lineup

The petrol engined Jaguar XE starts at INR 39.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 46.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It competes with the Audi A4, Volvo S60, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3-series. We expect the diesel engined car to launch soon.
