Jaguar Land Rover India reported a 45 percent growth for January- March 2016 quarter , clocking sales of over 1000 units.
Jaguar XE
The company said the increase in sales can largely be attributed to the launch of models like Jaguar XE and Land Rover Discovery Sport. New Discovery Sport is the affordable SUV in the Indian market from Land Rover starting at INR 47.59 Lacs while the Jaguar XE starts at INR 39.90 which was launched at the auto expo in February this year.
Mr. Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said,“The Jaguar and Land Rover brands are now firmly established in India. The All-New Jaguar XE, which we introduced in the Indian market in February 2016 in petrol derivatives, has received a tremendous response. Also, the demand for Model Year 2016 Jaguar XJ, Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport continues to be extremely robust. We thank our esteemed customers for choosing Jaguar Land Rover and making this strong growth possible.”
Currently the XE is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine in two states of tune – 197 bhp and 320 Nm of torque and 237 bhp and 340 Nm of torque both mated to an 8-speed transmission. The British carmakeer has recently imported two units of the XE dieselinto the country for homologation purposes which means diesel option is coming soon. The diesel is a 2.0-litre engine from the new Ingenium range will be avalable in two trims 160 bhp and 380 Nm of torque and 178 bhp and 430 Nm of torque.
The Jaguar range in India also includes F–TYPE , locally manufactured XF , locally manufactured XJ (starting at INR 99.99 Lacs) and locally manufactured All-New XE while the Land Rover line-up consists of the flagship Range Rover, Range Rover Sport , Discovery 4, New Discovery Sport and Model Year 16 New Range Rover Evoque.
