Mahindra unveiled its two door XUV500 concept at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo. Dubbed the XUV Aero, Mahindra’s latest concept is the manufacturer’s take on the still niche coupe crossover segment.

Mahindra’s pavilion at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo played host to the most multi-faceted range from any manufacturer. With models ranging from electric smart scooters to souped up Thar models, Mahindra showcased the full scope of its technological prowess this year. One of the most striking and tantalizing models showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo remains the XUV Aero Concept.

The sloping roofline of the new Aero Concept is a defining characteristics of the coupe crossover segment.

The Mahindra XUV Aero Concept is a two door coupe crossover concept based off the current generation XUV500. The two door SUV drops its muscular profile for a sportier profile. The current generation XUV500’s aggressively styled front end dons an even meaner persona with an all LED headlight construct and a sleek chrome grille. Mahindra has also swapped out conventional fog lamps for LED DRLs and the front bumper dons a few more cuts and arches adding to the strong SUV character that the XUV500 exudes. The sharp roofline has been ditched for a coupe style sloping roof that melds seamlessly into the rear of the SUV. Mahindra’s XUV Aero also features a rear diffuser with integrated exhaust tips.

The suicide doors found on the new Mahindra concept is typical of ultra luxury vehicles

Passengers are greeted by suicide doors, a feature seen only on more upmarket ultra-luxury cars such as the Rolls Royce Ghost or Phantom. The cabin features a Tesla like vertically mounted large touchscreen tablet that is used to control various aspects of the car.
