Tata Motors showcased a custom Zest sub-compact sedan at the Auto Expo in Delhi. It showcases new accessories and features that can be availed by Zest customers. The sedan gets only cosmetic changes and no mechanical changes.

On the outside, the Zest gets new front and rear bumpers, side sills and a small boot spoiler. On the inside, it gets Premium Java Black and Latte interior colours trimmed with chrome on the dashboard. The extra features include powered curtains and sun shades, smart illuminated scuff plates, floor mats, brown leather seats, convenient tab holder and a coat hanger.
Powering the Zest is a petrol engine and a diesel engine. The petrol is a turbocharged Revotron 1.2 litre unit producing 89 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It returns 17.6 kms to a litre of fuel. The diesel is a 1.3 litre Quadrajet unit producing 89 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It returns 23 kms to a litre of fuel. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to the front wheels. The sub-4 metre compact sedan rides on 15-inch wheels.

The Tata Zest starts at INR 5.03 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 8.34 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It competes with the Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the upcoming Volkswagen Ameo.
