Mercedes-Benz’s Indian arm of their truck business will preview BharatBenz trucks at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Mercedes-Benz has been in India since a very long time. The truck maker had collaborated with Tata Motors (the then TELCO) in past. Now, they have started a bespoke Indian subsidiary known by the name of BharatBenz which will cater to the growing demand for commercial vehicles in India.
The BharatBenz brand was formed to be able to cater to the specific needs of the market here in India. Driving conditions in India are very different compared to those in Europe or any other part of the world. Hence, BharatBenz trucks are designed specifically for the Indian market. The trucks have undergone extensive testing in different conditions over a period of time. BharatBenz will set a benchmark for trucking in India with its high-quality products tailored to the specific needs of the customer. The exclusive preview of BharatBenz trucks has been organised on January 4th alongside an event in New Delhi.
The commercial vehicles market in India has grown at a healthy 17 percent this year. This makes India one of the fastest growing markets in the world. ‘Daimler’ has a keen interest in the growing Indian commercial space. Also, being the world’s biggest truck maker, Daimler hopes to revolutionize trucking as we know in India. The truck maker plans to introduce modern, high-quality products for its customers in India. The firm also has high hopes from the Indian market and hopes to further strengthen their influence in the sector.
