The vehicle was revealed ahead of its premiere that is to be held during the Frankfurt motor show and one can surely expect some exciting changes including more space, better fuel economy and efficiency. The new Volkswagen Tiguan India will come in a seven seater version with a longer wheelbase. The vehicle will compete with the likes of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the new Toyota Fortuneretc. New Volkswagen Tiguan India might be priced well especially because it will be locally assembled, which in turn should prove to be a blessing for the group. New Volkswagen Tiguan India will be powered by the new 2.0-litre diesel engine that’s powering Passat, delivering a power of 187bhp. The safety features like Pedestrian monitoring, Automatic Post-Collision braking system along with front assist with city emergency braking along with Lane assist etc. will all come as a standard in this vehicle. It is expected that the car will get a 4MOTION Active control switch board with driving modes – Onroad, Snow, Offorad and Offroad individual, though this might vary from place to place.
Volkswagen increased the rear seating especially around the knee by about 29mm with its 180mm of longitudinal adjustment. The vehicle will be 60mm longer, 30mm wider and 33mm lower than the present model and will have a wheelbase that’s 77mm more than the present version. In various markets, the SUV will come in a range of options that will include a 1.6-litre diesel engine along with a 2.0-litre engine as well whereas there will be a 1.4-litre and a 2.0-litre petrol engine option also. The power outputs will range from 148bhp to 178bhp and 217bhp. This vehicle will be a five seater for most of the markets barring India.
Nissanhad recently revealed their plans that soon they will be entering the crossover segment. Along with this we can expect a new vehicle based on the CrossBlue concept which is likely to be unveiled pretty soon. The T-Roc Concept based SUV, on the other hand, has already entered its testing phase. The former is expected to be placed above the new Volkswagen Tiguan India whereas the latter should be somewhere in the lower segment as compared to the new Volkswagen Tiguan India.
