Just after it was leaked, Maserati launched the new Levante SUV ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month.
The Levante will be based on the Ghibli platform
The Levante shares its design language with the Kubang SUV but it has been designed to keep it in tune with the latest Maserati cars and to make it instantly recognisable as a Maserati. They have tried to keep the SUV stylish as well as aggressive at the same time. The interiors also look similar to the other Maserati cars like the Ghibli and the Quattroporte.

The technical specifications of the Levante have not been revealed yet. It will be based on the Ghibli. According to leaked specifications, the SUV will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. A more powerful V8 petrol engine is also expected. The engines will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and power will be sent to all four wheels. The engine are Euro6 compliant.

The SUV has been designed to give excellent handling even on low-grip surfaces and perform well off-road as well. It comes with sophisticated electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs as standard.
The 2017 Maserati Levante will be built at the company’s at the Mirafiori plant in Turin.The first few cars have already been manufactured and a launch in Europe is scheduled for this spring. Launches in other markets will happen by the end of the year. The SUV will make its official public debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month.
