The third product in line to share the floor of Nexa with Ciaz and S-cross is Maruti Suzuki YRA a.k.a. Baleno in Europe. We have seen this mammoth hatchback several times in past through spy shots and now it’s time to witness its presence in official images. Set to taste the tarmac soon in India, the car is in pipeline for European market as well. In Europe, it is christened as Baleno but in India it could bear the different tag. These official images finally put a full stop to speculative renderings and doesn’t have anything to surprise us.

The Baleno’s design stays close to that of the concept iK2, showcased few months ago. The large V shaped grill, housing honeycomb structure, gets chrome highlight beneath. The sweptback headlamps with projector lights and eyebrow DRLs merge well with overall design. Compared to front, side profile seems much busier and appealing. Bulged wheel arches make the shoulder line ride waves. Blackened out A-pillar and multi spoke alloys look stunning. This car can even outrun some sedans, in terms of shear presence and larger dimensions it offers. The tail end is simple yet in sync with overall design. We can tag this design to be not exciting but interesting type, as off now. Things may change when we get to see this car in flesh though.

Apart from exoskeleton, no other visual details are available yet. What is being rumored presently that, company could bring 1.0 liter Booster jet petrol engine to India with this car. The diesel engine could be the 1.3 liter multi-jet Fiat unit or the engine which is being developed by the company themselves. All the recent technologies seen on Suzuki cars, like AMT and SHVS technology, could also feature on Baleno. With this car, company will be aiming to establish themselves into a more premium segment and will challenge Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz.
