It looks like Volkswagen is readying another facelift for the Polo hatchback. It was spotted testing in Mumbai recently.
The updated Polo will get cosmetic changes similar to the updated Vento sedan
The updated hatchback will get new projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, which are similar to the updated Vento, and new LED tail lamps. On the inside, it might get some new features. However, last month, Volkswagenthe infotainment system by adding a touchscreen audio system with Mirror Link Connectivity and Phone Book and SMS viewer. The hatchback also got rain sensing wipers and auto dimming IRVM. Hence, no changes or minimal changes to the interior is a possibility.
The same engines powering the current car are likely to continue. The diesel could get a larger, locally sourced turbocharger to make more power. Power could be bumped up to 110 bhp in GT TDi.

The fifth generation of the Volkswagen Polo is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 74 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. The diesel is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 88 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Fuel efficiency is rated at 16.47 kmpl for the petrol and 20.14 kmpl for the diesel. More powerful GT versions of the car are available in petrol and in diesel. A 3-door Polo GTihot hatch was showcased at the Auto Expo in Delhi last month and is due to be launched soon.
The Volkswagen Polo starts at INR 5.33 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and INR 8.48 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It competes against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Ford Figo and the Fiat Punto Evo.
