Stefano Domenicali Replaces Stephan Winkelmann As Lamborghini Boss

Stephan Winkelmann has been working as the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini for a little more than 6 years now.

Stephan Winkelmann has been working as the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini for a little more than 6 years now. A few rumours came up recently suggesting that he would move from the Italian company to head Audi’s Quattro GmbH division. The rumours have come true. He is leaving Lamborghini and will be replaced by Stefano Domenicali.

Stephen Winkelmann joined Lamborghini as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 1st January 2005. The German has spearheaded the Italian company to great success over the past few years. In 2014, they set a record by selling 2,530 vehicles. But, they eclipsed this feat in 2015 by selling 3,245 cars. Under him, the new Huracan and the Aventador having doing extremely well. He also worked on the Urus SUV, which will be launched in a few years time. Stephen Winkelmann will be moving to Audi Quattro GmbH. They deal with performance versions of regular Audi cars.

Replacing Stephen Winkelmann will be Stefano Domenicali. The Italian was the team principal of the Ferrari Formula One team from 2008 to 2014. The 50-year old joined Ferrari in 1991. After he quit the Italian team, Stefano was employed by Audi as vice president of new business initiatives. He now aims to continue the great work done by Winkelmann and continue the company’s success story.

In India, Audi Quattro sells the RS5, RS6, RS7 Sportback, R8 V10 and the R8 V10 Plus. The range starts at INR 1.09 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 2.48 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

In India, Lamborghini sells the Huracan LP 610-4, Huracan RWD LP-580-2, Aventador LP 700-4 and the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster. The range starts at INR 2.99 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 5.62 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
