Just after the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 was officially unveiled ahead of its public debut at the New York International Auto Show, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 SUV has been spied testing near Mercedes’s test facility at the Nurburgring.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 SUV will get a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine
This will be the range-topping variant of the GLC-Class. The photographers reported that the vehicle made a roaring V8 sound. Just like the other range-topping AMG cars, even this SUV will be powered by a V8 engine. The engine is 4.0-litre biturbo unit in two states of tune – 476 bhp and 510 bhp. The new engine made its debut with the Mercedes-AMG GT supercar and also powers cars like the Mercedes-AMG C 63. The engine will come paired to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission and power is sent to all four wheels.
The SUV will get some exterior changes
Some exterior changes are expected to make the car look more sporty. The front bumper on the test car was camouflaged. New alloy wheels are also expected. The test car featured traditional 5-spoke AMG design alloy wheels at the rear and alloy wheels from the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC at the front. The traditional 5-spoke design is expected to be used.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 will be the range-topping variant in the GLC-Class
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 will be unveiled later this year. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz will soon the launch the regular GLC-Class SUV in the country and it was showcased at the Auto Expo held in Delhi last month.
