Prices Of The Chevrolet Cruze Cut By Up to INR 86,000

Less than a month after its launch, Chevrolet has decided to cut the prices of the Chevrolet Cruze by up to INR 86,000 depending on the variant.

Chevrolet wants to make the Cruze look as better value for money option

The price cut seems to have been done to make the sedan look as a better value for money. With the recent facelift, Chevrolet gave it some cosmetic changes to freshen it up and a new MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, which gets features like internet radio, Grace Note, SIRI Eyes Free compatibility, Bluetooth Audio Streaming, Phone telephony with Voice Recognition control, Touch controls for Automatic HVAC and Vehicle Personalisation settings. The cosmetic changes include LED daytime running lights, a revised front end, projector fog lamps, a new rear bumper and a new rear lip spoiler.

There are no mechanical changes on the facelift. Powering the Cruze is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 164 bhp at 3,800 rpm and 360 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The manual car returns 17.9 kms to a litre of fuel while the automatic car returns 14.8 kms to a litre of fuel. There is no petrol engine on offer from the American company for the premium sedan. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.

The new Chevrolet Cruze now starts at INR 13.95 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to INR 16.95 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It competes with the Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyundai Elantra, Renault Fluence, Volkswagen Jetta and the Skoda Octavia.

An all-new Cruze is coming next year

The next generation of the Chevrolet Cruze will be launched in India next year.
