Nissan India, yesterday, opened it’s latest and the third dealership in Andhra Pradesh, taking the total Indian dealership count to 32, which is now finally looking like a decent number although it nowhere figures in the massive number of dealerships that Maruti, Hyundai and Tata Motors have.
2011 Nissan Micra Small Car
Any which ways, Nissan India’s intentions of having 100 dealers by the end of 2013 is a creditable one and it do wonders to the Nissan brand’s penetration throughout India. Nissan India also plans to add 23 dealerships this fiscal which would take it’s dealer count to about 55 by 2012.
While the Micra’s sales continue to slowly climb, the launch of the Nissan Sunny Global Sedan sometime during August-October would further boost Nissan India’s sales and would also keep the dealers happy as their portfolios would have another bread winner in the form of the Nissan Sunny Sedan.
Meanwhile, here’s what Kiminobu Toyuyama, managing director and chief executive of Nissan Motor India had to say about Nissan’s dealer expansion plans.
We will ramp up our dealership network to 100 from the existing 32 by 2013.
