2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus
The first day of the 2016 Auto Expo saw many celebrities attend the biennial event. We begin with Audi and everyone is aware of cricketing star Virat Kohli’s love affair with them. Yes, he was present at the launch of the Audi R8 V10 Plus accompanied by another celebrity, Bollywood sensation, Alia Bhatt. The Audi R8 V10 Plus is the fastest road going car ever built by the company and puts out 610BHP of power. It was launched at a staggering Rs. 2.48 crore in India. They also unveiled the brand new 2016 Audi A4 which is set to launch in India soon.
2016 BMW 7-Series
Next up is BMW India brand ambassador and cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar. The ‘God of Cricket’ launched the all new 2016 BMW 7-Series in India. Prices range between Rs. 1.11 crore up to Rs. 1.55 crore. BMW also launched the all new X1 in India at a starting price of Rs. 29.90 lakhs. Sachin Tendulkar was seen talking to the media about his love for BMWs and especially the new 7-Series which is a Mercedes-Benz S-Class competitor.
2016 Jaguar XE
Jaguar launched its smallest sedan yet, the XE, in India and who better than Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif to launch it. The Jaguar XE competes with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series and is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol in two states of tune – 200PS and 240PS. Katrina Kaif was seen checking out the various features on the insides of the car and was definitely smitten by the XE’s looks.
Hero XF3R
Another Bollywood superstar, Ranbir Kapoor was seen at the biennial event, to launch the world’s best selling motorcycle, the Hero Splendor iSmart 110. The bike is the company’s first indigenously developed motorcycle with no support from former partner Honda. The 110cc single cylinder engine develops 9.1PS of power and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Mahindra Jeeto
Manoj Bajpai, another Bollywood star, was present at the Mahindra stall to endorse the Jeeto SCV. He was seen interacting with the media talking about the various benefits of this city friendly small commercial vehicle.
Nissan on the other hand had the biggest announcement this Auto Expo with the appointment of Bollywood actor, producer and superstar John Abraham as their brand ambassador for the company’s upcoming flagship models – GT-R and the X-Trail Hybrid SUV. The company also launched limited edition models called the ICC Micra Active and the ICC Terrano in the presence of cricketing legends, Mohinder Amarnath and Zaheer Khan. So clearly the event was packed with celebrities in and out of the gates unveiling, launching and endorsing their favourite brands.
