Delhi Auto Expo 2016 will see almost 80 launches.. yes EIGHT ZERO launches in just two days. We bring you the list of bikes that are expected to be launched next week.

Triumph Bonneville Street Twin

All models now come with traction control and driving modes for rider safety.

The Street Twin is the most contemporary Bonneville, powered by an all-new high torque 900cc engine. The engine of the new Street Twin d elivers a massive peak torque figure of 80Nm at a low 3200 rpm – which is an amazing 18% more than the previous generation, delivered low down and across the whole rev range. It is expected to become the most affordable Triumph in the Indian market.

The exhaust and chassis have got a complete makeover with nothing similar to the previous generation. The inclusion of safety aids such as ABS, traction control, slip-assist clutch, ride-by-wire throttle and distinctive LED rear lights, USB charging socket and an engine immobiliser.

BMW G310R

The BMW G 310R has a newly developed single cylinder 313cc engine with an output of 34 hp at 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. It is equipped with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection.  The engine is tilted backwards and the cylinder head is turned 180 degrees so the intake track is at the front.

The bike will get 300mm single disc up front, single 240mm on the rear with ABS as standard fitment on all the bikes. It’s got  110/70 R 17 tyres at the front and 150/60 R 17 at the rear. BMW hasn’t stated which company will make these tyres. The bike weighs 158.5 kilogrammes and the seat height is just 785mm.

The bike is expected to cost between 22.5-2.75 lakh rupees and will be manufactured in India at the Hosur plant of TVS.

Suzuki Gixxer 25o

The Gixxer could do with a bigger 250 cc engine.

The Gixxer was expected to be launched at EICMA last November, but having missed that deadline, it could be a real possibility that the bike will be launched at the Auto Expo. It will be a fully faired motorcycle and we bet all our money on Suzuki putting this bike against KTM Duke 200 and RC 200. Double cylinder motorcycles have gained decent momentum in India but can’t match the single cylinder offerings, in same displacement class, in terms of pricing and rupee per bhp quotient.

The company is also expected to launch a dual disc brake variant of the 150cc Gixxer SF.

UM Renegade Commando

The bike will be brought in via the CKD route to keep the prices low and will be powered by a 223cc single cylinder air cooled engine. Engine outputs around 20 bhp and a healthy 15.5 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm that will propel the bike to cruising speeds pretty swiftly.

Matte finish paint job and wired wheels add to the old school charm, along with the rounded tail lamp. Suspension duties are carried out by telescopic forks at the front and twin springs at the rear. A front disc rear drum setup provides the stopping power, though a rear disc would have been good too. A five-speed transmission helps to transfer the power from the engine to the rear wheel. With up to 50% localization of parts, UM will be able to price the bike competitively and attract some of the customers of Royal Enfield.

Hero HX 250R

The HX250R will come with a 249cc single cylinder heart with figures of 31 bhp and 26 Nm, helping it touch 60 kph in 2.7 and 100 in under 8 seconds. With just 139 kg, to propel around and Pirelli Sport Demon rubber, the bike should be good in the bends too.

The HX250R has the best torque figures in its class and paired to a six-speed gearbox, should make cruising at decent speeds easy. Other modern touches include liquid cooling and an underbelly exhaust for better weight distribution.

Yamaha MT-03

The Yamaha MT-03 is a bike of great interest in India and will be the naked version of recently launched Yamaha R3. MT-03 carries the 321cc  liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC 4-valve inline twin cylinder engine seen on the R3 which generates 42 PS and 29.6 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.  The riding height is 780mm, with an aim of the rider being able to sit ‘in’ the bike instead of ‘on’ the bike. Yamaha MT-03 features  10-spoke 17-inch cast aluminium alloy wheels along with a 140/70-17 rear tyre, and a 110/70-17 front tyre. The console features analog and digital interface.

When launched in India, Yamaha MT-03 will take on the KTM Duke 390 primarily in the street bike segment and the yet to be launched BMW G310 R.

Benelli Tornado 302

Tornado 302 will surely strike a chord with Indians, especially since we love all bikes with a full fairing.  The success of 300 TNT has already helped Benelli generate the volumes it desired in a short span of time. The company showcased Tornado 302, which features a 300 cc unit enough to produce 35 bhp and a torque of 27 Nm.

Tornado 302 borrows the reworked skeleton from TNT 300 and wears a handsome looking full fairing which house twin headlamp setup. Cosmetically many changes can be seen on this machine from head to tail. The short underbelly exhaust is replaced with conventional looking regular unit in the aluminum finish.  Only fuel tank helps you in establishing the link between the donor and the new bike.

Benelli TRK 502

Benelli TRK 502 is a true adventure tourer which has been positioned under 600GT. It gets a 499.6cc twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine that is equipped with an electronic injection, dual overhead camshaft and 4 valves per cylinder, churning out 48 PS at 8,500rpm while the maximum torque of 45 Nm. The engine is mated to 6-speed gearbox. Tyres will be provided by Pirelli, Pirelli Angel rated at 120/70-17 up front and 160/60-17 at the rear which will be wrapped around 17-inch alloy wheels.Baking will be done by dual discs measuring 320 mm in diameter and two-piston floating caliper while the rear will get a 260mm single disc with a twin-piston calliper.
