Vespa 150cc Models Launched In India – Starting Price Rs. 84,641

Alongside, two new variants of Vespa 125cc were also launched, all in the presence of a renowned Italian football player, Alessandro Del Piero, who is the new global ambassador for the chic scooter brand. Price of Vespa 150cc models are Rs. 84,641 for low-end VXL and Rs. 88,696 for top-end SXL variants. New Vespa 125cc models are priced at Rs. 77,308 for VXL and Rs. 81,967 for SXL (all prices are ex-showroom Pune).

Both the variants, VXL and SXL can be distinguished visually by rectangular headlamp with chrome surrounds & rectangular side mirrors on the latter while the more affordable model gets a circular headlight and a pair of round rear view mirrors. The other significant difference between them, is the black coloured 5-spoke alloy wheels on SXL, instead of silver finished ones on VXL. Features on both Vespa 150cc models include monocoque body made of steel, wide-profile tyres – 110-70/11 at front and 120-70/10 at rear, analog-digital instrument cluster, disc brake upfront, single side-arm front suspension, hydraulic rear suspension, self-starter, and the like.Colour choices, one of the significant selling points of Vespa, are different for each variant of 125 and 150 models. Vespa 125 VXL gets red, yellow, white, matte black, and maze grey, while 125 SXL gets orange, white, matte black and azzure blue. Vespa 150 VXL is available in yellow, red, white, green and matte black, while 150 SXL flagship model is offered in orange, white, matte red and matte black.

Powertrain on new Vespa 125 VXL and SXL variants is the same 125cc single-cylinder 3-valve aluminium-head engine, doing duty in Vespa LX 125, VX 125 and S, producing 10.06 PS max power at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The new Vespa 150 variants are powered by a similar single-cylinder 3-valve aluminium-head engine but displacing 150cc, churning out only marginally higher 11.6 PS max power at 7,000 rpm and 11.5 Nm peak torque at 5,500 rpm.

Now the portfolio of Vespa in India, consists only of 5 models – Vespa 125 VXL, SXL, Vespa 150 VXL, SXL and Vespa Elegante (125cc).
