Innova Crysta is a big launch for the Japanese maker after a period of lull with no so successful launches in the country. Innova Crysta is expected to be launched in the next couple of months. Here are five things about the Innova Crysta you should know.
Almost 50 percent powerful engine
Toyota Innova will receive a significant bump in engine power. The base 2.5-litre mill produced a measly 100 bhp but the folks have increased up the power output from a slightly smaller engine. The new Crysta will feature a 2.4-litre mill producing 147bhp and 359 Nm of torque which is great news. However, clever engineering has helped achieve greater fuel efficiency which is expected to be 10-15% more than the outgoing version.
Heavier and larger than current generation
Toyota Crysta is a good 200 kg heavier than the current model and also larger dimensionally. It measures 4735 mm in length, 1830 mm in width and 1795 mm in height which is an increase of 210 mm, 70 mm and 65 mm respectively. The increase in dimensions will certainly increase the space and comfort on the inside but it might be difficult to maneuver especially with the wheelbase remaining a constant 2750 mm.
More Expensive
The Inova Crysta will come with loads of upmarket features, luxuries. The car is completely new with no parts adopted from the old model. However on the upside, since the parts will be shared with Fortuner and Hilux, the jump in cost should not be much. We expect it to be about 10 percent.
The Innova Crysta bookings have already opened in India and what we know is Indians have loved the MPV and it will garner great response. The Crysta will be available powered by a 2.0-litre i-VVT petrol motor that churns out 137BHP and 183Nm and an all new 2.4-litre diesel engine that produces 147BHP and 359Nm which is also shared with the new Toyota Fortuner. A more powerful 2.8-litre diesel motor might also be on offer.
