Ferrari has launched the 488 GTB in Mumbai at a price of Rs. 3.88 crore. This supercar is the successor to the ever so popular 458 Italia.
Ferrari is one of those dream machines every boy and girl dreams of owning someday. The car has so much appeal and attractive forces that makes you want to get behind the wheel of the prancing horse. Ferrari reentered India last year and inaugurated a new showroom early this year in Mumbai. Mumbai based Navnit Motors have finally launched the 488 GTB at a staggering Rs. 3.88 crore ex-showroom, Mumbai. The car was launched last week in Delhi and is now ready to burn rubber on Mumbai streets.
The Ferrari 488 GTB is in a class of its own. It is powered by a 3.9-litre V8 twin turbocharged to develop 660BHP of max power and 760Nm of max torque. Those figures are around 100BHP and 304Nm more than the 458 Italia despite having a smaller displacement motor than its predecessor. The car is also more efficient to cut through the air by as much as 53 percent than the 458 Italia with a Aero Efficiency of 1.67. Helping achieve those figures are a ‘Blown’ Rear Spoiler, Double Front Spoiler, Rear Active Aerodynamics and a Base Bleed Intake.
The 488 GTB is only the second new generation Ferrari’s to feature turbocharging. The Ferrari California T was the first next generation model from the company to have a turbocharged motor under its hood. The engine is mounted in the front while the gearbox drives the rear wheels. The T in the name stands for Turbo, something that Ferrari used on the iconic F40 supercar for the very first time. The F12 Berlinetta on the other hand uses a naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V12 engine that develops a colossal 740PS and 690Nm.
