RE: £100K Garage: Khurram Khan

Wednesday 6th January
£100K Garage: Khurram Khan
Six cars from Japan for Khurram, plus a trio of tasty Germans too
Name : Khurram Khan
Previously owned : Vauxhall Corsa 1.0
Currently owned : BMW E46 325Ci
On the shortlist : "I am a car enthusiast!

: "I am a car enthusiast! I dribble over a forged Impreza rather than a Bugatti Veyron. PistonHeads is my pastime at work and if you want to really know what my street would look like with a £100K investment, here you have it."

BMW E30 325i Sport
Cost : £11,595
Balance : £88,405
Why I chose it : "Basically my dream car; ever since my dad owned a black 325is in the 90s I have adored the car since. Sadly the values keep going up, making it hard to get hold of one. But if I was to have one it would be my daily driver until the engine blows up and then maybe swap in an E46 M3 engine under the bonnet." [Sadly this 325i has sold and there are no similar cars in the E30 section of]

BMW E46 M3
Cost : £9,250
Balance : £79,155
Why I chose it : "The naturally aspirated king, and probably the best car of its era in my opinion. This has wide arches, 19-inch wheels and a stunning induction roar; an enthusiast's dream car! A collector's car I think. Watch how the E30 sprung back, this will also gain a lot of value in future, especially as you start finding less for sale."

Audi RS4
Cost : £14,500
Balance : £64,655
Why I chose it : "A 4.2-litre V8 Quattro, brilliant in all weather conditions. A head turner and the 420hp means there aren't many cars that would beat it. Obviously this RS4 is a four-door saloon as well so it's perfect for family at the same time."

Nissan Pulsar GTI-R
Cost : £5,989
Balance : £58,666
Why I chose it : "The Japanese Domestic Market at its best, a Subaru killer of its time. This car also appeals with the amount of potential the engine has. I've seen a GTI-R with a forged engine do a quarter-mile in less than nine seconds; anything is doable with such a unique engine!"

Mitsubishi Evo 5
Cost : £7,700
Balance : £50,966
Why I chose it : "You do not see many of these on the roads any more. The amount of power this car makes from a 2.0 is insane, and the sound of it would definitely have my neighbours telling me to keep the noise down when starting the car!"

Honda Civic Type R EK9
Cost : £7,500
Balance : £43,466
Why I chose it : "I was going to select the iconic EK9, but what better than a turbo EK9? A sleeper car at its finest, with 443hp in something that looks so ordinary." [Another ad no longer available and turbo Type Rs don't come up often... See the rest for sale].

Nissan Skyline R32
Cost : £8,500
Balance : £34,966
Why I chose it : A Skyline is a Skyline; you must have one in your dream garage. This is a cheaper GTS option but still an amazing car, and with so many aftermarket parts available if 440hp is not enough."

Cost : £32,000
Balance : £2,966
Why I chose it : "Look at it! What more do I need to say than 1000hp?"

Toyota Celica
Cost: £2,250
Balance: £716
Why I chose it: "The GT4 is a brilliant car. There aren't many memories to match sitting in the passenger seat of one with the first few gears being run out by the driver. It also looks good value here too." [A cheap Celica that is no longer for sale frustratingly. See the rest on PH].
