Wednesday 16th December 2015
£100K Garage: Matt Chandler
Two four-wheel drive icons, a fast Audi estate and a Brit sports car favourite for Matt's dream fleet
Name : Matt Chandler
Previously owned : Ford Escort XR3i Mk3, VW Golf GTI 8v Mk2
Currently owned : Ford Escort XR3i Mk4, Audi S3 8L, Volvo V50 R-Design diesel
On the shortlist : "At 25 having grown up playing Gran Turismo and Forza the list of cars I want to own/drive in real life is endless, so I guess this list is my attempt to squeeze as many examples as possible!"
Cost : £7,995
Balance : £92,005
Why I chose it : "Before purchasing my S3 in 2013 I was seriously considering an S4 Avant, but the insurance and potential turbo costs were too much to justify a purchase.

: "Before purchasing my S3 in 2013 I was seriously considering an S4 Avant, but the insurance and potential turbo costs were too much to justify a purchase. I've always had a thing for fast estates and the Audi S/RS models shift pretty well and look fantastic with the flared arches! Budget constraints meant the RS lost out, but the S4 is a decent alternative, plus it's in the best colour - Imola Yellow (like my S3)."

Cost : £44,995
Balance : £47,010
Why I chose it : "I'll admit there's a bit of a theme running here - I really love yellow on certain cars and the Integrale is one of them. I've always had an interest in rally cars, Group B especially, and the Integrale is a rallying icon born from the ashes of Group B and the Delta S4. It's my dream hot hatch, I love the looks and its stance. Plus being left-hand drive make it perfect for using on the continent to go to Classic Le Mans and the Spa Classic."

Noble M12 GTO
Cost : £27,999
Balance : £19,011
Why I chose it : "The moment I saw this car on one of Clarkson's DVDs I wanted one; its looks, its performance, the noises it makes - I love it all. It's in the very rare Portofino Blue which looks fantastic. It'd probably be a weekend toy/occasional track day car, especially as it looks to have had a few track-orientated modifications made. I had considered the M400, but at nearly twice the price I'm happy to have the M12 and spend the remaining £19,000 on another car."

Subaru Impreza P1
Cost : £16,500
Balance : £2,511
Why I chose it : "This is a childhood dream really. Watching the late rally heroes McRae and Burns on TV driving (and winning!) rallies all over the world in Imprezas planted the Subaru seed in my brain. I've had model cars, RC cars, posters - everything. The P1 is based on my favourite shape of Impreza, and this is one of the few I've seen that's original and unmodified. I would probably use the car at every opportunity; yes it's probably going to be a future classic, but I couldn't just sit and look at it. It needs to be driven!"

"The remaining £2,511 will probably go towards insurance or fuel for the above."
