: Ford Orion Equipe (First car, dismal), Citroen Saxo VTR, Vauxhall Corsa SXI, MG TF (awful), MG ZR (even worse. Bought brand new, a week later MG go bust). Then it got a bit more serious! Toyota Supra Twin Turbo, Astra VXR, Nissan 350Z, Porsche Boxster, Audi TT, BMW Z4
Currently owned : Mercedes C180 Coupe AMG Sport (company car)
On the shortlist : "Something that covers most bases for everyday use, something exotic and a classic. I would love a Mercedes Pagoda but unfortunately, these days, that would have eaten most of the budget!

Cost : £58,850
Balance : £41,150
Why I chose it : "This has been my dream car since I was young. The F355 is one of the best driver's cars of all time, one of the best Ferraris of all time and is surely an appreciating asset. Looks to die for and it commands respect from true petrolheads as well. This one looks beautiful in a rare colour. Living the dream. Stunning!"

Cost : £21,989
Balance : £19,194
Why I chose it : "Another boyhood dream had to be fulfilled. The Cosworth goes down in history as an icon and this one is low mileage and pretty much standard; a rarity these days. A future classic that also gets the nod from young and older petrolheads alike. Just wish I had a spare £20K kicking around!"

Cost : £14,495
Balance : £4,666
Why I chose it : "A C63 AMG would have been nice but good examples are still £20K plus. It was between this and a Range Rover. But, if I've got £100K to spend on my garage, I would think petrol prices aren't an issue. So my heart ruled my head and this is the result. I prefer older cars and have actually considered exiting the company car scheme at work and taking an allowance to buy one as an investment. Cosworth engineering with Audi build quality, 380hp on tap, sleeper looks and load lugging potential. They are PistonHeads perfection and look amazing in Avus Blue."

Cost : £4,700
Balance : (£4)
Why I chose it : "Initially a Clio Williams or 205 GTI needing TLC would've been in this spot, but it's a GTA for less than £5K! OK, it's an Alfa with over 100K miles. It will definitely leave you broken down, stranded in the rain on occasion, but you could forgive it once the bonnet is lifted and that chrome covered V6 is revealed. I love these cars!" [Sadly someone else got to this GTA before we could feature it. The only otheron PH is twice as expensive]
