RE: £100K Garage: Stew Toal

£100K Garage: Stew Toal
Stew plays the hardcore card for his £100K Garage with a Radical, an Ultima and a bike too!

Name : Stew Toal
Previously owned : Honda Integra DC2 Type R, Lotus Elise Sport 160, Mazda RX-7, Mk1 Mazda MX-5, Renault Clio 172 Cup, BMW 328i Sport Coupe, Honda S2000, Mk1/2/3 Toyota MR2, Toyota Celica GT4 ST205
Currently owned : Toyota Celica 190 VVTLi, Renault Clio 1.5 diesel (shudder)
On the shortlist : "Shortlist? You mean long list, right? I love the purity of cars without lots of driver aids or assists. Hence a few of my choices have next to none. Being realistic, I'd settle for another Lotus Elise, maybe a VX220 (although I don't like the engine) or a kit car. And as a biker, I am happy to get the speed and thrill factor there too.

"I would love a classic as well, but I didn't add one here because of the prices involved; I'd probably need another £100K. I'll keep dreaming!"

Cost : £8,390
Balance : £91,610
Why I chose it : "I'm a biker as well as a car nut. My first big bike was an RSV Mille, which I loved, but this is a whole other level. It's gorgeous, and the power and noise are intoxicating. I'd pick an Aprilia over a Ducati any day, as they are slightly more reliable."

Cost : £39,995
Balance : £51,615
Why I chose it : "Ready to race, or just to do track days. I would jump at the chance to take this to European tracks and go just as fast as possible. I've seen these racing too, and it looks so much fun. I could just imagine lining up on a grid full of these, fighting throughout the race. It would be a challenge to get used to downforce I'm sure. This particular car has all the stuff I want."

Cost : £44,995
Balance : £6,620
Why I chose it : "I've been a fan of these monsters ever since I first saw one on PH. As soon as I saw one in person, I thought: wow! The 'what the hell is that?' factor from those not in the know really appeals too... The combination of the looks, the noise and the speed make this very cool to me! I love the simplicity of it. I chose this one because it's in the middle ground but, with 560hp and 900kg, is there any need for more?"

Cost : £5,785
Balance : £835
Why I chose it : "For towing the Radical on a trailer (yes, I didn't include one in the list...), going camping, general driving duties, if we ever get real snow and so on. Daily life stuff. And with these things being very tuneable, it could be a fun daily driver too. Obviously I would make sure the manifolds were unequal length so it had that famous burble."

"I'll put that last bit of money towards a trailer for the Radical."
