Spyker planning four-door model, V12-powered coupe

Holland-based boutique automaker Spyker has announced that it will expand its lineup with at least two new models in the coming years.

The next new Spyker will be a coupe called C12 positioned above the C8 Preliator (pictured) that was introduced last month at the Geneva Auto Show. Spyker is keeping tight-lipped about the C12, but company boss Victor Muller hinted that it will use a V12 engine borrowed from a European automaker.

Spyker is also working on a four-door model that Muller bills as a "C8 Preliator on steroids." He stopped short of confirming whether the model will be a four-door sedan or a SUV, but website CarBuzz believesthat Muller is talking about an updated version of the D8 Peking-to-Paris concept that was shown all the way back in 2006.

Finally, Muller revealed that C8 Preliator production will be capped at 150 units. The production run will include 50 coupes, 50 convertibles, and 50 limited-edition models split evenly between coupes and convertibles. Half of the coupes have been earmarked for the United States, they'll be sold through a network of about ten dealerships located in major cities including New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and Tampa.

We'll find out more about what the future has in store for Spyker -- and most likely see the company's next model -- at the Los Angeles Auto Show that will open its doors in November.
