Volvo S90 and V90 specs released
From £32K, Momentum and Inscription trim levels plus CO2 from 116g/km - who wants an E-Class anyway?
Well if you're going to be stuck on a motorway...
From launch in the UK, there will be a front-wheel drive, 190hp D4 and all-wheel drive, 235hp D5. The less powerful model emits 116g/km and returns 64.2mpg, with the D5 rated at 58.9mpg and 127g/km.The two specifications - Momentum and Inscription and, yes, they are the names - are separated by £3,000 on the D4 model or £2,500 on the D5. As standard on a Momentum you get leather, heated seats, a nine-inch infotainment screen with nav and LED headlights. There's also the Pilot Assist semi autonomous tech on every model. The Inscription adds to the Momentum spec with Nappa leather, electric front seats, some additional chrome and a 12.3-inch TFT driver's screen (the Momentum uses an eight-inch equivalent).
Options include a 'Xenium package' (sunroof and a parking camera), a Park Assist Pilot and Apple CarPlay. To make the most of it, you'll probably want the B&W stereo upgrade, boasting 18 speakers and 1,400W.
The range starts at £32,555 for an S90 D4 Momentum, the V90 from £34,555 (all estates carry the £2K premium). The most expensive model from launch will be the £44,055 V90 D5 AWD Inscription. Both cars are available to order now, with saloon deliveries expected in September and the first estates in October. And if you're short of the cash but like to dream, the Volvo configurator is now live. Mussel Blue looks good...
