Subaru revealed the 2017 Forester which now comes with modest styling updates, more safety features and slightly improved fuel efficiency.
For the US-bound MY2017Forester’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with new color cameras for a wider and longer field of vision and Lane Keep Assist. Other new features include Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Naturally aspirated models also gain a revised front bumper and a new grille while all models getredesigned headlights with a black inner bezel and a new C-shaped lighting signature. Similar changes apply to the rear LED lights as well.
Subaru has added a new Sepia Bronze color option, exclusive to the Touring trim level and two new alloy wheel designs featuring a black/machined finish. Touring models also get new Saddle Brown perforated leather upholstery option with contrast stitching as an option with matching door panels and other details.
The company added more soundproofing for a more comfortable experience, including thicker glass for the doors, an acoustic windshield and revised door seals and underfloor insulation.
The 170hp 2.5i CVT versions now offer an EPA fuel economy of 26mpg city / 32mpg highway / 28mpg combined, improving on the 24mpg city / 32mpg highway / 27mpg combined of the outgoing model.
The turbocharged 250hp 2.0XT models gain the Active Torque Vectoring feature which debuted in the latest WRXand WRX STI models. Other revisions include a quicker steering ratio for a more immediate response to the driver’s inputs.
Subaru hasn’t released more photos of the new North American 2017 Forester yet but watch this space.
